Day 57 - Friday 15th May
I slept a little better last night, perhaps due to the CBD oil I used before bed. It seems to take the edge off the pain in my quad. I'm not out of bed until 9 though and my sister messages to say that she'll be over for coffee at 10 so breakfast then a shower and I'm just ready before she arrives. We sit on the veranda in the sun - 6 feet apart of course - and chat for an hour and a half. I check emails and spin a few plates before a scheduled call with the co-ordinator for our climate change partnership at noon. Then some lunch - leftover meat-based curry - rescuing food that would otherwise be thrown away is the only time I eat meat these days.
In the afternoon I organise some stock orders for my online shop, progress a few other bits and pieces and go through the very long-winded process of trying to reclaim from the credit card company the money that Google incorrectly charged me for an ad they claim I sent live but I didn't. Hubby and I have a conversation about the ingredients he'd like me to order for the meals he'd like for the 10 days following our grocery delivery; my son is happy to have what he gets, probably because he's already fed up with having to plan menus at uni. Today should have been the first day of a yoga retreat - I'm sad not to be there but it has been rescheduled and I am sure it will be fabulous when we finally make it.
Dinner tonight is leftovers for my son and me and a pasta dish using the chicken left over from yesterday's dinner for hubby, as I'm trying to minimise food waste. I finalise our online shop and manage to get a future slot booked, too. Then I make sure everybody has the details for the whisky tasting tomorrow lunchtime. I haven't achieved very much today but with next week's calendar full of interviews and other conversations about work I think I can afford a slower day.
Today I am grateful for something to look forward to.
